Soft neutrals, earth tones, texture, layers. Clothes you feel good in and can move around in comfortably. Avoid heavy logos, bright neon, and anything too busy. You want the focus on your faces, not your clothes.
Late afternoon light on the West Coast is something else. If you can book your shoot for the hour or two before sunset, do it. The light is warm, directional, and makes everything look incredible. Dean will suggest the best time based on the season and location.
Seriously. Snacks, a favourite toy, something to keep them entertained between shots. Do not try to make them pose or stand still. Dean works best when kids are being kids. Let them run around, let them be themselves. Those are the shots you will love the most.
