Your wedding day is busy and it goes quickly. Build in some time that is just for you and your partner to stop, breathe, and actually feel what is happening. When you are relaxed and present, the photos reflect that. The best images from any wedding are never the posed ones.
This is the single biggest thing you can do for your photos. Mid to late afternoon light on the West Coast is genuinely extraordinary. It is warm, directional, and makes everything look incredible. If you can schedule your outdoor portraits for the hour or two before sunset, do it. The difference is noticeable in every single photo.
The best wedding photos come from angles nobody planned. Give Dean room to move - to step back, to find a different position, to work around the edges of a moment rather than the middle of it. The more space he has, the more variety and creativity ends up in your final gallery.
